Auditory Radiation, Computer Graphic. The cerebellum and most of the left side of the brain have been removed in this posterior view of the auditory radiation (yellow). The auditory radiation connects the medial geniculate nucleus of the thalamus (magenta) and the primary auditory cortex in the transverse temporal gyrus (in blue -- also called the anterior transverse temporal gyrus or Brodmann area 41). The auditory radiation traverses the sublenticular part of the internal capsule and forms the last link in the auditory pathway that started in the cochlea.
