The superior sagittal sinus lies in the superior margin of the cerebral falx in the longitudinal fissure. The inferior sagittal sinus occupies the inferior free margin of the falx and empties into the straight sinus, which is located at the junction of the falx and the tentorium. The transverse sinuses travel along the attachment of the tentorium cerebelli to the occipital bone. The cavernous sinuses on either side of the sphenoid bone empty via the superior and inferior petrosal sinuses \(buttoned\). "))
