(FRAME-INFO (STRING "Summary Inputs. Use this diagram in your study of the pathways that project into the cerebellum \(see next several cross sections\). The cerebral cortex is connected to the cerebellum via a relay in the pontine nuclei located in the base of the pons. The spinal input reaches the cerebellum via the dorsal nucleus of Clarke \(leg\) and the lateral cuneate nucleus \(arm\). The brainstem itself projects to the cerebellum via the inferior olivary nucleus, and the vestibular and reticular nuclei. Some of the vestibular nerve fibers from the vestibulocochlear \(VIII\) nerve project directly to the cerebellum \(not shown\). Note that there is also a ventral spinocerebellar tract \(not shown\) that carries leg information \(large receptive fields\) to the cerebellum via the superior cerebellar peduncle \(not shown\).
